Andy Spade

Conceived of as a unique series of books, posters, cards, and other various limited edition objects, Kate Spade Editions is an initiative that expresses the company's creative spirit. Members of the in-house design team were encouraged to present ideas that are related to the Kate Spade sensibility, however tangentially, and that can be simply produced in edition of 250. The series will be sold at Kate Spade boutiques in the U.S., Japan, and Hong-Kong, as well as small art bookstores around the country.

The collection was launched with an exhibit in the Kate Spade showrooms, "an argument for looking at books instead of reading them", created by Andy Spade. A long-time book collector, Andy is as impressed with striking, unusual book jackers as he is with quality literature. From art exhibition catalogs found in second-hand bins to rare first edition titles, the book collection has been built to surround Kate Spade product and give dimension to the company's eclectic aesthetic. The exhibit has traveled to Japan, and has closed here at colette from 4th to 30th december.
