"Babel Tales" exhibition by Peter Funch.
Babel Tales Addendum marks both the end and beginning of the work of photographer Peter Funch. After 4 long years in the streets of New York, he brought together 41 monumental panoramics. Each one is composed of thousands of frozen moments, taken over a period of several weeks. By photographing the same exact position, Funch can superimpose images creating a fictional work, yet one that is based on documentary photography. Through repetition and juxtaposition, Babel Tales focuses on human relationships and interactions in a metropolis. Funch examines similarities between individual and collective behavior creating strange and poetic images, detailing our individual behaviors in the communal, public sphere.
Peter Funch was born in 1974 in a small town in Denmark. For the last 5 years he has lived and worked in New York. This is his first solo exhibition in France and a limited edition catalog will be available.
