For Sacai's 2012 Spring Summer collection, the keyword was ‘’Elegance through Transparency’. With a sleek and minimalist basic silhouette, the combined use of sheer and opaque gave the garments a fluid aspect.
The colors were clean and crisp shades of white, navy and beige with contrast touches of blue, yellow, green and pastels. In terms of fabrics, different types of cottons were displayed such as knitwear, eyelet, floral patterns and lace.
The silhouettes proposed combinations of classic items such as cardigans or tailored jackets next to more adventurous pieces in contrasting fabrics: for instance a cotton-knit sweater dress with a sheer chiffon back. Finally, the cotton eyelet flared trench coat, the gathered-back motorcycle jacket, the “all-in-one” dresses and the knitted double-breasted blazer were the key looks of the season.
